The following five demonstration songs were created for Song of the South but were never included in the final movie. Thanks to "Mr. H" for the info on these! If anyone else out there knows more about these songs, like who wrote them and who performed them, please contact me. Thanks!

Rang Tang
Performed by Johnny Lee and Unknown Singers

As I was gwine down the road
I met Brer Rabbit totin' a load
I said, "Brer Rabbit, which way is you gwine?"
Brer Rabbit: I can't tell! I might change my mind!

Rang Tang, Tin Pan
Jig an' y' Cakewalk if you can
Rang Tang, Tin Pan
Jig an' y' Cakewalk if you can!

Now every time I's in the field
Seems like you always kickin' up your heels
Now Brer Rabbit, ain't you ashamed?
Brer Rabbit: Walkin' and dancin's all the same!

[Whistling]

Brer Rabbit: I might go right, I might go left
I think I better stop and ask myself
I might go right, I might go wrong
But where I'm gwine is where I belong!

Chorus: Rang Tang, Tin Pan
Jig an' y' Cakewalk if you can
Rang Tang, Tin Pan
Jig an' y' Cakewalk if you can!

Brer Rabbit: Now you walk along so, you tip your hat
Do a li'l of this and you do a heap of that
If you bow to the ladies with a "How d'ye do?"
Maybe they'll wink and smile at you!

[Giggling and laughter]

Ladies: See him kick his heels so high!
Look at him step it! My, my!
Brer Frog: Hey, Br'er Rabbit, your pants is patched.
Brer Rabbit: I got that jiggin' in the Briar Patch!

Chorus: Rang Tang, Tin Pan
Jig an' y' Cakewalk if you can
Rang Tang, Tin Pan
Jig an' y' Cakewalk if you can!

Uncle Remus Jubilee

Uncle Remus come to the party
Jubilee tonight!
Uncle Remus come to the party
Jubilee tonight!

Get your hat and get your cane,
Come along walkin' down the lane
Bring your fiddle, the purdiest thing
Tap your foot I'll beat all to sing!

Uncle Remus come to the party
Jubilee tonight!
Uncle Remus come to the party
Jubilee tonight!
Jubilee, Jubilee, Jubilee, Jubilee
Jubilee, Jubilee, Jubilee tonight!

Listen to that boy play that song!

Meet your partner by the do'
Circle 'round and around you go
Clap your hands, tap your toe
Play that fiddle and here we go

Uncle Remus come to the party
Jubilee tonight!
Uncle Remus come to the party
Jubilee tonight!
Jubilee, Jubilee, Jubilee, Jubilee
Jubilee, Jubilee, Jubilee tonight!

The River's Deep

I'll take my troubles down to the river
I'll tie a great big rock to the toe
I'll throw my troubles down to the bottom of the river
And never see my troubles anymo'.

Oh, The River's Deep, and the river's wide
And they never swim to the other side
Yeah, The River's Deep, and the river's wide
And they never swim to the other side.

Don't ever 'sociate with your troubles
Just throw 'em in the river to drown
Then throw a great big rock at the spot where it bubbles
And never let your troubles get you down.

Oh, The River's Deep, and the river's wide
And they never swim to the other side
Yeah, The River's Deep, and the river's wide
And they never swim to the other side.

Ain't Nobody's Fool

Oh, I ain't had no education
Never been to school
That may be, but I guarantee
I Ain't Nobody's Fool.
Yowzah! No sir. I Ain't Nobody's Fool.

They say that rabbits multiply
At least that is the rule
Yet this here lad can't even add!
But I Ain't Nobody's Fool.
Yowzah! No sir. I Ain't Nobody's Fool.
Oh! Yowzah! No sir. I Ain't Nobody's Fool.

Inga-Go-Jangle-Jay

Narration: Mr. Lion, he grrrroowwwl, and he spit [spitting sound], and all de critters they formed a ring around the tree, and they started singin':

Oh, the hunter chased the hound dog
And the hound dog chased the fox
Brer Rabbit caught all three o' dem
And put 'em in a box.

Inga-Go-Jangle-Jee, Inga-Go-Jangle Jay
Brer Rabbit locked 'em in a box
And throwed the key away.

Then the Lion caught Brer Rabbit
And licked his chops with glee
Brer Rabbit throwed the Lion down
And tied him to a tree.

Inga-Go-Jangle-Jee, Inga-Go-Jangle Jay
Brer Rabbit tied him to a tree
Then throwed the tree away!
